Donaustadt district council addresses urban development and infrastructure
In Vienna's Donaustadt district, recent district council meetings addressed various local administrative and developmental issues. Key topics included the opening of the Oberes Hausfeld urban development area, the completion of the Berresgasse park, and various infrastructure projects.
Regarding transportation and urban planning, the council approved several measures, including road renovations on Telephonweg, pedestrian signal installations at the Donaufelder Straße/Josef-Baumann-Gasse intersection, and the extension of bicycle paths in Attemsgasse. However, certain environmental initiatives, such as installing photovoltaic-equipped bicycle parking in Oberes Hausfeld, were rejected due to cost constraints. Additionally, a proposal for public restrooms near the U2 Aspern Nord station remains pending.
