Donegal County Council Sets Love Donegal Day for Sep 17, 2026

Donegal County Council announced that the seventh annual Love Donegal Day will be held on Thursday 17 September 2026. The event, coordinated by the council’s Economic Development Division, aims to bring together residents, schools, businesses, community groups and members of the Donegal diaspora to celebrate the county’s landscapes, culture and economic vitality. Council chair Gary Doherty said the day is “an opportunity to recognise the achievements of our communities, support local businesses, celebrate our culture and heritage, and reconnect with the people and places that mean so much to us.” The initiative is part of a broader place‑branding strategy that seeks to promote Donegal as a world‑class place to live, work, invest and visit. The 2025 campaign reached over 109 million people worldwide, and officials encourage the use of the hashtags #LoveDonegal and #DúnnanGallAbú on social media.
