A 51-year-old man was arrested by the Guardia Civil after allegedly stabbing a 39-year-old man during a fight at a bar in Doneztebe. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, during the town's local festivities.
The victim, a Romanian national, sustained a knife wound to the chest and was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at the Hospital Universitario de Navarra in Pamplona due to the severity of his injuries. The suspect also sustained injuries during the altercation, including a head wound from an extinguisher, and was treated at the same hospital.
The Doneztebe City Council issued an institutional statement condemning the attack, stating that violence has no place in their society or festivities and constitutes an attack on democratic coexistence.
