Dong-A ST and Pusan National University Hospital partner for smart wards

Dong-A ST has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pusan National University Hospital to establish smart hospital wards and co-develop an AI and wearable-based maritime medical support system. The partnership includes collaboration with Mezoo and People & Technology.

The initiative focuses on implementing the HiCardi M350, a wearable ECG monitoring device, to create smart wards capable of real-time vital sign monitoring. This system aims to detect abnormal signs early, enhancing patient safety and medical staff efficiency. Dong-A ST will support business implementation, while Pusan National University Hospital will provide the clinical environment and evaluate operational performance.

Additionally, the group will develop an on-device AI maritime medical support system designed for environments with limited medical access, such as deep-sea vessels. Key development areas include automated smart medical records, real-time multilingual translation, and technologies capable of operating in low-bandwidth or disconnected communication environments. The partners also plan to collaborate on international certification, global standardization, and securing large-scale healthcare R&D projects.
