Dong Bai ferry terminal reports smooth traffic on first day of National Day holiday
On the first day of the National Day holiday on August 29, the Dong Bai – Cai Vieng ferry terminal in Cat Hai, Hai Phong, experienced smooth traffic flow with no significant congestion. Unlike previous holidays where travelers and drivers faced long queues lasting several hours, the current volume of tourists heading to Cat Ba Island remained relatively low, only slightly higher than typical weekdays.
Management at the terminal attributed the lack of congestion to recent upgrades, including improved access roads and new ferries with a capacity of nearly 200 tons, capable of carrying approximately 20 private cars or 6 to 9 passenger buses per trip. Officials anticipate a potential surge in passenger volume on August 30, which is expected to be the peak day of the holiday period.
