Ho Chi Minh City police dismantle eight drug rings and arrest 'Hoàng Nato

Authorities in Vietnam have conducted significant law enforcement operations involving drug trafficking and food safety violations. In Ho Chi Minh City, police arrested Duong Minh Tuan, known as ‘Hoàng Nato’, a prominent social media figure. This arrest led to the dismantling of eight drug trafficking rings, resulting in the detention of 126 individuals, including five South Korean and four Taiwanese nationals. Seized items included over 1,000 ‘chill’ pods containing Etomidate, along with various synthetic drugs.

In Dong Nai, investigators have transferred files to the police after discovering a herd of approximately 2,350 pigs at a farm in Tan An commune testing positive for high levels of Salbutamol. Salbutamol is a banned Beta-agonist used to artificially increase weight in livestock, posing risks to food safety. This discovery follows recent inspections where thousands of other pigs were also found to be contaminated with the substance.

Separately, in Ho Chi Minh City, authorities are investigating the discovery of a male body, estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old, found floating on the Saigon River in the An Nhon Tay area.
