Dong Nai Bridge toll station dismantled to improve traffic flow

The Dong Nai Bridge BOT toll station on National Highway 1, located in Dong Nai Province near the eastern gateway to Ho Chi Minh City, has been completely dismantled. The removal project, managed by the Southern Road Project Management Board and invested by Road Management Area IV, aims to restore the road surface and improve traffic safety in an area prone to congestion.

While the main structures have been removed and the road surface has been partially restored to facilitate smoother vehicle flow, final asphalt paving has been delayed due to heavy seasonal rainfall. Authorities expect the remaining technical surface treatments and final paving to be completed by October 15.

The toll station had ceased collecting fees in August 2020. Its presence for several years after operations ended was viewed by local authorities and citizens as a significant traffic hazard and a bottleneck. The project follows a decision to establish public ownership of the assets previously invested in the project.
