On the morning of 27 July, a north–south route bus operated by L.P. Bus caught fire while travelling on Vietnam’s National Highway 1A near Tràng Bom ward in Dong Nai Province. The driver pulled the vehicle to the roadside and, together with local residents, quickly extinguished the smoke. No passengers were injured and the bus continued its journey after the incident.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. The event follows a fatal bus crash on 21 July in the same province, which resulted in seven deaths and five injuries after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
The incident underscores the importance of rapid community response to roadway emergencies in Vietnam.
