Dong Nai businesses petition against new truck bans on Dong Khoi Street

Businesses in Dong Nai are petitioning local authorities to revise new traffic restrictions on Dong Khoi Street, which took effect on August 25. The regulations aim to improve traffic safety and reduce congestion but have drawn significant opposition from local enterprises.

Under the new rules, trucks carrying over 2 tons are prohibited during three specific windows: 6:00–8:30, 11:00–13:30, and 16:00–21:00. Additionally, trucks with a capacity exceeding 5 tons are banned from 5:00 to 22:00 daily.

Companies operating in the Thanh Phu Industrial Park and surrounding areas have submitted petitions to the City People's Council, People's Committee, and the Department of Construction. They argue the restrictions severely disrupt supply chains, increase logistics costs, and threaten production schedules. Business representatives warned that the inability to transport goods during most of the day could lead to contract breaches, loss of brand reputation, and potential job losses, particularly for those supplying products to key national projects.
