The Dong Nai People's Court has sentenced 21-year-old Nguyen Duc Anh to death for murder and six years in prison for the illegal use of military weapons. The verdict follows a brutal attack in Binh Minh Commune on September 3, where the defendant targeted a family after a failed attempt to enter his ex-girlfriend's home.

During the incident, Anh entered the neighboring residence of Nguyen Van Quang. The attack resulted in the deaths of Quang's wife and two young children, aged 1 and 11. Mr. Quang survived the assault but sustained injuries equivalent to 76 percent bodily impairment.

The court described the defendant's actions as inhumane and noted that he was not acting spontaneously, having prepared weapons beforehand. The judicial panel stated that Anh is incapable of education or rehabilitation and must be permanently removed from society. In addition to the criminal sentence, the court ordered Anh to pay over 1.1 billion VND in compensation to the victims' family.
