Dong Nai flooding affects 320 households near Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway

Heavy rainfall and rising waters from the Buong River have caused widespread flooding in Phuoc Tan Ward, Dong Nai, affecting approximately 320 households. The flooding occurred following prolonged heavy rains that caused upstream water to surge rapidly into residential areas near the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway.

In the most severely impacted areas, such as Huong Phuoc neighborhood, water levels reached up to 1.5 meters. The flooding submerged residential roads and pedestrian underpasses, creating dangerous conditions with fast-moving currents. Local authorities, including military and police forces, have been deployed to set up barriers, guide residents, and assist in moving property and evacuating people from high-risk zones.

While no casualties have been reported, property damage is expected. Local officials plan to implement disinfection and mosquito control measures once water recedes and are preparing temporary evacuation sites at Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School for future emergencies.
