Dong Nai Police arrest 10 individuals in 'online gangster' group

Police in Dong Nai City have issued emergency detention and arrest orders for 10 individuals, including Dao Ngoc Giau (known as 'Cop Den'), for their involvement in producing violent social media content. The group, often referred to as 'online gangsters,' utilized social media platforms to build influence and prestige through videos that promote violence, garnering millions of views and shares.

The suspects are being investigated for the illegal provision or use of information on computer and telecommunications networks, as stipulated under Article 288 of the 2015 Penal Code. This operation follows directives from the Ministry of Public Security to crack down on criminal groups and individuals who exploit social media to establish influence through illegal activities.
