Dong Nai police dismantle ring distributing 400 tons of diseased pork

Police in Dong Nai have dismantled an illegal ring responsible for distributing approximately 400 tons of diseased and dead pigs into the market. The operation, designated Special Case 926H, was led by Tran Van Hung.

During the investigation, authorities conducted raids at five locations, including transit points, slaughterhouses, and retail sites. Law enforcement seized approximately 7 tons of dead pork confirmed to be infected with the African Swine Fever virus.

Investigations reveal that since 2024, Hung and his wife, Huynh Thi Hieu Em, have been collecting diseased livestock from various sources to be slaughtered and sold as food. The group faces charges related to violating food safety regulations.
