Dong Nai police investigate school enrollment bribery allegations

Police in Dong Nai City are investigating allegations of bribery related to school enrollment, commonly referred to as “running for schools.” The investigation is currently focused on identifying victims involved in the incidents.

The Dong Nai Department of Education and Training stated that the alleged misconduct occurred during 2022 and 2023, a period when educational management in the Bien Hoa area was under the jurisdiction of the Bien Hoa Department of Education and Training. The department noted that police are currently working with schools included in the investigation list, but they have not yet received information regarding schools directly under the provincial department's management.

To prevent such occurrences, the department emphasized that enrollment for grades 1 through 10 is now conducted through an online system. This digital process includes public admission criteria and online result notifications to minimize interference and bribery. The department plans to review the situation and issue documents to strengthen management following these incidents.
