Dong Nai proposes 3,500 social rental housing units

The Dong Nai Department of Construction has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Construction to adjust social and rental housing development targets for the 2026–2030 period.

The proposed plan maintains a total social housing target of over 60,000 units for the province. Under this adjustment, the number of social housing units for sale would decrease by 500 units, while the target for rental housing would increase by 500 units, totaling 3,500 rental units.

The department outlined a phased development schedule: 2,000 units expected in 2026, 3,000 in 2027, 5,000 in 2028, 10,000 in 2029, and over 40,000 units by 2030. This shift follows government guidance to prioritize rental housing to meet the high demand from workers and residents affected by land recovery for local projects.
