Vietnam medical reports highlight pediatric and adolescent health incidents

Medical professionals in Vietnam are reporting several notable health incidents involving children and adolescents. At Cà Mau Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, doctors successfully removed a 250-gram hairball (trichobezoar) from the digestive tract of a 5-year-old girl who had a habit of eating hair.

In a separate series of incidents, 108 Military Central Hospital has treated a 16-year-old female suffering from severe multi-trauma, including traumatic brain injury and facial fractures, following an electric vehicle accident involving alcohol consumption. Doctors warned of potential lifelong neurological and physical consequences for young people involved in such accidents.

Additionally, at Duc Giang General Hospital, surgeons performed emergency laparoscopic surgery on a patient with a ruptured bladder caused by a traffic accident. Medical staff noted that the patient's habit of holding urine may have increased the risk of injury during the impact.
