Dong Thap officials ordered to end administrative delays and bureaucracy

Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, has issued directives to eliminate administrative inefficiency and bureaucratic misconduct. Local leaders are held directly responsible for maintaining discipline, public service ethics, and the quality of service provided to citizens and businesses.

The mandate requires an immediate end to procrastination, evasion of responsibility, and the circular processing of documents that causes stagnation. New guidelines emphasize a principle where a single task is assigned to one primary agency to ensure clarity regarding personnel, tasks, timelines, responsibilities, authority, and outcomes.

Furthermore, officials must prevent the practice of subordinates passing tasks upward to avoid responsibility and superiors interfering improperly in subordinate affairs. The directive also targets corruption risks, specifically instructing officials to stop providing incomplete guidance or repeatedly requesting additional documentation without clear reasons. In cases of delayed or rejected files caused by official error, leaders must issue public written apologies and face strict disciplinary action.
