Dong Thap implements new agricultural traceability plan
The Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee has issued Plan No. 1077/KH-UBND to enhance the quality, food safety, and traceability of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products for the 2026–2030 period.
The initiative aims to improve state management efficiency and develop safe supply chains linked to concentrated raw material areas. Key focus areas include managing growing area codes, packaging facility codes, and One Commune One Product (OCOP) items. The province intends to strengthen production, processing, and consumption links while expanding cooperation with domestic enterprises and distribution systems to boost export market potential.
Dong Thap has identified three core product groups for this strategic development: high-quality low-emission rice, high-value specialty fruits, and freshwater aquaculture, specifically pangasius (tra fish). Additionally, the province will support traditional craft villages and OCOP products, such as lotus, Sa Dec noodles, and various dried fruits, to increase value-added competitiveness and promote sustainable, modern ecological agriculture.
