Dong Van Buckwheat Flower Festival 2026 to launch in Tuyen Quang
The 12th annual Buckwheat Flower Festival, themed “Echoes of the Stone Land,” is scheduled to open on the evening of October 25, 2026, at Thanh Nien Square in Dong Van, Tuyen Quang. The event aims to celebrate the natural beauty of the buckwheat flower, promote the cultural identity of local ethnic groups, and boost tourism within the UNESCO Global Geopark.
To prepare for the festivities, approximately 400 hectares of buckwheat have been planted across various communes in the Dong Van karst plateau. The blooms are expected to last from October through December, with peak flowering coinciding with the festival week. Key scenic locations for viewing include Route 4C, Lung Cu, and the Nho Que river area.
The festival program features a blend of traditional and contemporary arts, including the second “Stone Spirit” rock show on October 31. Other scheduled activities include the Lo Lo ethnic culture day and Vietnam-China cultural exchanges on October 23, as well as exhibitions for OCOP agricultural products and local specialties in the Dong Van old quarter.
