Dongducheon residents report 87.5% satisfaction with city administration
Dongducheon City has released the results of its ‘2026 Policy-Establishment Citizen Satisfaction Survey,’ revealing that 87.5% of residents are satisfied with the city's administration and 87.1% consider it a good place to live. The survey, conducted by Kukmin Research & Consulting Group among 1,037 citizens, also showed an 82.4% intention to continue residing in the city.
Despite high overall satisfaction, residents identified several areas for improvement. The highest levels of dissatisfaction were reported in employment (26.4%), transportation and parking (18.5%), and health and medical services (11.7%). Additionally, the survey highlighted a lower intention to remain in the city among younger demographics, with only 50% of those in their 20s and 64.7% of those in their 30s expressing a desire to stay.
Mayor Park Hyung-deok stated that the city will use these findings to refine major policies of the 9th civil election term. Key focus areas will include economic revitalization through corporate attraction, industrial infrastructure expansion, and job support. The city also plans to address regional disparities and improve the accessibility and programming of public facilities to better meet citizen needs.
