Dongfeng launches Captain D 1830 Tractor in Argentina

Dongfeng, represented in Argentina by Magma Automotive, has expanded its commercial vehicle portfolio with the introduction of the Captain D 1830 Tractor. This new 4x2 configuration is designed for medium-distance transport, logistics, and regional distribution, featuring a maximum towing capacity of 38,000 kg.

The vehicle is powered by a 6.7-liter Cummins ISD300-50 diesel engine producing 300 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed FAST EATON manual transmission. It also includes DANA axles and comes factory-equipped for trailer operations with a fifth wheel and trailer brakes.

Marcelo Mauro, Country Manager of Dongfeng Argentina, noted that the model aims to capture the medium-duty market by offering higher power than many competitors, which typically hover around 270 hp. The truck features a king cab for driver comfort, equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, and multimedia systems, alongside safety technologies such as ABS, electronic stability control (ESC), and a rearview camera.
