Donghai County showcases crystal and nail industries in Milan

Donghai County showcased its crystal and handcrafted press-on nail industries at an event in Milan during Milan Fashion Week on September 23. The gathering, themed ‘Crystal Shines Across the World, Commerce Connects the Future,’ marks the 10th anniversary of Donghai’s UNESCO designation as the ‘World Capital of Crystal.’

The initiative aims to connect local manufacturers with the international fashion community to expand market reach. Donghai is a major producer in these sectors; the county produces over 70% of China’s total press-on nails, with annual sales reaching 15 billion yuan. Additionally, crystal trade in the region exceeded 60.6 billion yuan in 2025.

During the event, Jiangsu Donghai Crystal Industry Development Group Co., Ltd. introduced a program to pair international designers with Donghai makers. The showcase included new products developed through collaborations between Chinese and Italian designers, alongside exhibitions of crystal pieces and press-on nails from local companies.
