Dongjak-gu distributes custom passport cases to residents

Dongjak-gu in Seoul has begun distributing custom passport cases to residents to prevent damage to electronic chips in next-generation passports and improve user convenience. The 12,000 transparent PVC cases feature the district's symbols, ‘Dongjaki and Gukhwassi,’ on the front.

The back of the cases includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' consular call center number and the address for the overseas safety travel website to assist citizens during emergencies. The design also includes internal pockets for boarding passes and cards. The cases are provided free of charge to residents picking up their passports at the Dongjak-gu Office for the first time.

In addition to this initiative, the district provides various customized civil services, such as mobile passport delivery for the elderly and disabled, mobile marriage registration services for those with severe disabilities, and extended evening hours for passport services on Fridays. Dongjak-gu was recently selected as an excellent institution for the ‘2026 National Happiness Civil Service Office Certification’ by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
