Dongjak-gu opens district office for public classes and community use

Dongjak-gu has launched new line dance classes as part of a broader initiative to open its district office to the public. The classes, which began on August 7, are held every Friday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the 4th-floor auditorium. Following a month-long pilot period, the program is expected to expand to twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

The classes are free and open to all residents without prior registration. This initiative coincides with the district's policy of providing full access to the office building, which was previously restricted on higher floors. Additionally, the office serves as a heatwave shelter to help residents cope with extreme temperatures.

District Mayor Ryu Sam-young stated that the goal is to transform the district office into a resident-centered, open space that adds vitality to daily life and fosters communication.
