Donji Vakuf explosion injures man near demining site

A man was seriously injured following the detonation of an unknown explosive device near the Sultanovići settlement in the Donji Vakuf municipality. The incident occurred around 1:00 PM near the 'TI Sultanovići 4' demining site, though reports indicate the explosion took place outside the official demining area and the designated mine-suspect zone.

Members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSBiH) demining battalion, who were working at a nearby site, halted their operations upon hearing the blast and rushed to the scene. A medical technician from the manual demining team located the victim by the roadside and provided first aid to control heavy bleeding.

The victim was initially transported by an OSBiH medical vehicle to a hospital in Bugojno, and subsequently transferred to a hospital in Travnik for further treatment. Defense Minister Zukan Helez expressed gratitude for the rapid response of the OSBiH personnel and stated that those involved in the rescue would be rewarded. The Ministry of Defense has urged citizens to exercise extreme caution when working near mine-suspect areas.
