Donny Schatz wins 31st career feature at Knoxville Raceway

Donny Schatz secured his 31st career feature victory at Knoxville Raceway during the FVP 65th NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals preliminary event. Driving the CJB Motorsports No. 15, the Fargo, North Dakota, native moved from seventh to first place, taking the lead on lap five with a slide job past polesitter Carson McCarl.

The race included several incidents, including a collision involving Giovanni Scelzi and Carson McCarl that sent McCarl upside down, and a separate incident involving Brenham Crouch. Schatz maintained control of the race following a restart to claim the $7,500 top prize. Steven Snyder Jr. finished second, followed by McCarl, Chris Windom, and Rees Moran.

Despite the win, Schatz faces a difficult path toward a potential 12th Knoxville Nationals title. Due to earlier performance in the week, he is scheduled to start 11th in the C-Main for the championship finale.
