Donostia to deploy 112 professionals for Aste Nagusia cleaning

The Donostia City Council has announced a specialized cleaning operation for the 2026 Aste Nagusia festivities. Managed by the Directorate of City Maintenance and Services, the plan involves deploying 112 professionals across seven specific activity zones, including the Old Town, Center, Zurriola, and the area around the Kursaal.

The operation will utilize a wide range of resources, such as collection trucks with high-pressure systems, water-cleaning backpacks, and specialized vehicles for cleaning facades and graffiti. Teams will work in morning, afternoon, and night shifts to maintain high-traffic areas, concert venues, and public spaces.

Alongside these increased services, the City Council is launching a public awareness campaign titled ‘Enjoy the festivities, respect the street.’ The initiative encourages citizens to use waste bins correctly and respect the work of cleaning personnel to ensure a respectful environment during the celebrations.
