Donostia to remodel bus station with increased capacity

The Donostia City Council has presented a remodeling project for the city's bus station to address increasing passenger numbers and improve urban mobility. The plan includes reorganizing the 21 existing bays to increase service capacity; currently, five bays are used primarily for waiting, but the project will convert them into active transit bays and create a dedicated passenger waiting area.

A key feature of the renovation is a new independent exterior access designed for nighttime services. This entrance will allow five specific bays to operate independently during low-activity hours, enabling the rest of the station to close while concentrating passenger movement through a single controlled point. This new area will also include a small food service space and a bicycle parking area connected to the city's bike lane network.

Interior changes will also be implemented, including moving ticket offices to the upper floor and removing several premises from the mezzanine level to optimize space.
