Donovan Carrillo performs cultural tributes at Passio Live 2026

Mexican figure skater Donovan Carrillo performed a series of cultural tributes during the Passio Live 2026 event held at the Santa Fe Ice Rink. The two-time Olympian integrated elements of Mexican popular culture into his skating routines.

One performance featured a tribute to the singer Juan Gabriel, where Carrillo performed to ‘Abrazame Muy Fuerte’ with technical precision. Another segment of the show honored Mexican lucha libre legends El Santo and Blue Demon. During this routine, Carrillo appeared wearing the iconic silver mask and cape of El Santo, engaging in a choreographed confrontation with another skater dressed as Blue Demon to the music of ‘Los Luchadores’ by Sonora Santanera.

Carrillo participated in multiple routines throughout the event, showcasing a combination of technical jumps and interpretive storytelling designed to connect with the audience through Mexican heritage.
