Donyell Malen withdraws from Netherlands squad due to injury

AS Roma forward Donyell Malen has withdrawn from the Netherlands national team ahead of their Nations League fixtures due to a physical issue. The injury occurred following Malen's full 90-minute appearance in a recent match against Inter Milan.

Netherlands head coach Xavi Hernández provided a positive update, stating the injury is “not too bad” and expressing hope for a quick recovery. Malen, who currently leads the Serie A scoring charts with six goals, will remain in Rome to undergo treatment with the AS Roma medical staff. To fill the vacancy in the Dutch squad, Guus Til and Mexx Meerdink have been called up as replacements.

Malen's absence is part of a broader trend for AS Roma during the international break, as players Wesley and Bryan Cristante have also withdrawn from their respective national duties due to physical concerns. However, club reports indicate that these absences are precautionary and do not cause significant alarm for the team's upcoming domestic and European schedule.
