Door-to-door sales increase for internet and security services

Door-to-door sales have seen a notable increase this year, particularly within the internet service and home security sectors. Residents in areas like Amarillo have reported frequent visits from multiple providers attempting to win customers from competitors.

While many homeowners utilize ‘no soliciting’ signs, some salespeople continue to ignore them. Legally, ignoring such signs can result in fines, and if a solicitor refuses to leave after being asked, they may face criminal trespassing charges.

In response to the rise in solicitation, the internet service provider Ting is offering free, weatherproof ‘no soliciting’ signs to its customers to help them manage unwanted doorstep pitches.
