DoorDash data reveals shifting US Halloween candy trends
New data from DoorDash reveals shifting consumer preferences for Halloween treats in the United States. While Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups remain the most-ordered candy nationally for the third consecutive year, followed by Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars and M&M’s, two traditionally divisive items are seeing significant growth.
Orders for candy corn increased by 30% year-over-year, while raisin orders saw a 60% jump. Experts suggest the rise in raisin popularity may indicate parents seeking alternatives to sugar-heavy treats.
Regional preferences also vary significantly across the country. Reese’s was the most popular candy in 17 states, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington. In the South, assorted candy packs like Sweet Smiles topped lists in states such as Georgia and Louisiana. Other regional favorites include Laffy Taffy in parts of the Midwest, Airheads in Florida and Texas, and SweeTarts in Idaho and Oklahoma.
