DoorDash secures FAA certification to launch in‑house drone delivery
DoorDash received a Part 135 air carrier certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, permitting the company to operate commercial drone deliveries in the United States. The new service, called DoorDash Air, is being built by DoorDash Labs, the firm’s robotics and autonomy division, which is also developing its own drones and the supporting ground infrastructure.
DoorDash will integrate the drones into its consumer app after pilot testing, initially operating within visual line of sight and later expanding to beyond‑visual‑line‑of‑sight flights.
