Doosan Bears call up Unio Severino to first team

The Doosan Bears have announced the first-team call-up of foreign hitter Unio Severino following a strong performance in the Futures League. Severino, who struggled during his initial KBO League stint with a .235 batting average and no home runs in 15 games, showed significant improvement in the second tier.

During his recent five games in the Futures League, Severino recorded a .389 batting average with two home runs and a slugging percentage of .722. Doosan manager Kim Won-hyung noted that Severino’s performance met the requirements for the expanded roster starting August 25, citing his improved ability to hit fastballs and generate hard contact.
