Doosan Enerbility and LIG D&A partner to localize guided weapon engines

Doosan Enerbility and LIG Defense & Aerospace (LIG D&A) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to localize engines for next-generation guided weapons and aircraft.

Under the agreement, LIG D&A will focus on guided weapon system development and integration, while Doosan Enerbility will be responsible for developing the engines to be applied to these weapon systems. The partnership covers the entire development process, including research and development, testing, evaluation, and certification.

The collaboration aims to reduce dependence on foreign technology and mitigate export control risks associated with imported engines. By combining LIG D&A’s expertise in guided weapon systems with Doosan Enerbility’s experience in gas turbine development, the companies intend to strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic defense supply chain and meet the growing global demand for long-range precision strike systems.
