Doosan Enerbility secures 1,155-MW power plant contract in Vietnam
Doosan Enerbility, a South Korean plant manufacturer, has secured a turnkey EPC contract to build the 1,155-megawatt O Mon 3 gas-and-steam combined-cycle power plant in Vietnam. The project is being undertaken in the Can Tho region in partnership with PTSC and is funded by the state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN).
The contract is valued at approximately 840 billion KRW (837,970,880,392 KRW). A notable technical aspect of the deal is that it marks the first time a Doosan Enerbility steam turbine will be utilized in a Vietnamese combined-cycle power plant. Construction is scheduled to begin on October 6, 2026, with a target completion date of October 6, 2030.
Separately, Doosan Corporation reported minor changes to its shareholder structure, maintaining a 30.68 percent voting stake in Doosan Enerbility. The company is also exploring opportunities in the nuclear supply chain, recently visiting supplier Beomhan Mecatec alongside Westinghouse to discuss components for AP1000 containment vessels.
