Doosan Enerbility wins 840 billion won power plant contract in Vietnam
Doosan Enerbility has signed a contract worth approximately 840 billion won with Vietnam's state-owned energy group, PetroVietnam (PVN), to construct the O Mon 3 gas combined cycle power plant.
Forming a consortium with PTSC, a local energy services subsidiary of PVN, Doosan Enerbility will undertake the full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) scope. Notably, this project marks the first time the company will supply its own steam turbines for a gas combined cycle power plant in Vietnam.
The facility, located about 180km southwest of Ho Chi Minh City, will have a capacity of 1,155 MW and is scheduled for completion in 2030. Once operational, it is expected to stabilize the power supply in southern Vietnam. This project follows the O Mon 4 project secured by the company last year. To date, Doosan Enerbility has secured five gas combined cycle power plant projects this year, totaling approximately 3.87 trillion won.
