Doosan Enerbility wins supply deal for China's Lianyuan nuclear plant

South Korean nuclear equipment maker Doosan Enerbility has signed a contract with Chinese partners Dongfang Electric International (DEI) and Dongfang Electric Heavy Machinery (DFHM) to provide eight ultra‑large forged components for the steam generators of the Lianyuan nuclear power plant’s units 5 and 6. The items—four channel heads and four tube sheets—each measure up to 5 m in diameter and weigh as much as 130 tonnes. Delivery will be phased through to 2029.

The agreement follows Doosan’s earlier supply of similar components for Lianyuan units 3 and 4, confirming a continuous presence in China’s expanding nuclear market. The Lianyuan units will use the 1,400 MW CAP1400 next‑generation reactor model. Leveraging its 10,000‑ton press and advanced forging technology, Doosan aims to strengthen its role in the global nuclear supply chain as China pursues its goal of becoming the world’s largest nuclear‑power holder by 2035. President Kim Jong‑du said the contract “further confirms Doosan’s technology and quality competitiveness in China’s nuclear market.”
