Doosan Fuel Cell enters U.S. market with 501.4 billion won fuel cell contract
Doosan Fuel Cell has entered the North American power market through a 501.4 billion won contract to supply phosphoric acid fuel cells (PAFC) to HyAxiom, a U.S. subsidiary of Doosan. The fuel cells are intended for use in AI data centers to address power grid bottlenecks.
As AI data center construction often outpaces the development of power plants and transmission grids, these fuel cells provide an on-site power solution. The products will be delivered sequentially from the second half of 2024 through the first half of 2028. The modular design allows for scalable expansion to meet increasing energy demands.
Doosan Fuel Cell currently maintains an annual production capacity of approximately 275MW and is considering further expansion to support growing demand in the North American market.
