Doosan Yeonkang Foundation awards 2026 Environmental Academic Awards

The Doosan Yeonkang Foundation has announced the recipients of the 2026 Doosan Yeonkang Environmental Academic Awards. The ceremony took place at the Korean Society of Environmental Engineers conference held at Jeju Shinhwa World.

Professor Jang Am of Sungkyunkwan University received 30 million won for his research on selectively recovering phenols from coal chemical wastewater using a liquid supported membrane contact (SLMC) process. This technology identifies recovery principles and enables the reuse of hazardous substances from wastewater as industrial raw materials.

Professor Kim Hyung-il of Yonsei University was awarded 10 million won for developing a solar catalyst system. His research focuses on transforming waste plastics into high-value compounds or completely decomposing pollutants derived from plastics in water, depending on concentration and recovery potential.
