DOP Granada Mollar de Elche celebrates tenth anniversary

The Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) Granada Mollar de Elche will host a gala on September 24 at the Centro de Congresos Ciutat d’Elx to commemorate its tenth anniversary. Held under the theme ‘Diez años cultivando prestigio’ (Ten years cultivating prestige), the event aims to highlight the organization's decade of work and its role in protecting and promoting the specific pomegranate variety.

The ceremony will recognize various contributors to the sector through more than twenty awards across ten different categories. These distinctions will honor farmers, companies, professionals, and institutions that have helped consolidate the DOP. Notably, local chef Susi Díaz will receive an honorary distinction for her role as an ambassador, promoting the gastronomic qualities of the pomegranate in high cuisine and among chefs across Spain.

During the event's presentation, Elche Agriculture Councilor José Antonio Román and DOP President Francisco Oliva emphasized that the gala serves as a tribute to the collective effort of the agricultural community that has made the designation's success possible.
