DOP Granada Mollar de Elche celebrates tenth anniversary

The Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) Granada Mollar de Elche celebrated its tenth anniversary with a commemorative gala titled ‘Diez años cultivando prestigio’ (Ten years cultivating prestige). Held at the Elche Congress Center, the event was attended by more than 300 people.

During the ceremony, over twenty awards were presented across ten different categories to honor the individuals, entities, and institutions that have contributed to the prestige of this pomegranate variety. Francisco Oliva, president of the DOP, praised the efforts of farming families who continue to cultivate the fruit despite challenges such as rising costs, pests, competition, and difficult climate conditions.
