Dor Turgeman targeted with antisemitic chants at Montreal MLS match

Major League Soccer opened a formal investigation after New England Revolution striker Dor Turgeman was allegedly subjected to chants of “Death to Israel” and objects thrown during a 2‑2 draw with CF Montreal at Saputo Stadium. The abuse was reported to have begun after Turgeman scored, with witnesses describing hateful language from a minority of fans.

CF Montreal said it is reviewing the allegations and is in contact with MLS and the Revolution. The club condemned discrimination and pledged to take appropriate action. MLS stated that hateful language has no place in the league and emphasized its commitment to addressing the incident. Montreal goalkeeper Sebastian Breza received a yellow card after confronting Turgeman during the ensuing scrum.

Jewish community groups and Israel’s ambassador to Canada, Iddo Moed, also condemned the chants, warning that such hate must be stopped before it escalates.
