Doral man escapes armed kidnapping during Facebook Marketplace transaction

A man in Doral, Miami-Dade, narrowly escaped an armed kidnapping during a transaction arranged via Facebook Marketplace. The incident occurred on October 9 after the victim had successfully purchased an iPhone from the same seller on September 28 without incident.

During the second encounter, the victim approached a white BMW near his apartment building. According to police reports, a suspect lying in the backseat sat up and pointed a firearm at the victim, demanding his money and belongings. The victim was coerced into the vehicle, where he was held at gunpoint.

In a desperate attempt to escape, the victim threw approximately $4,000 in cash into nearby bushes. As a suspect exited the vehicle to retrieve the money, the victim managed to break free and flee the scene. Following an investigation involving phone records and vehicle data, police arrested 31-year-old Lázaro Núñez Martínez. He faces multiple charges, including armed kidnapping, armed robbery, grand theft, and tampering with evidence.
