Dordogne couple wins 10 million euro Loto jackpot
A couple in Dordogne, France, won a 10 million euro Loto jackpot after deciding to play while waiting for a restaurant reservation on June 26. The pair, who typically play EuroMillions, visited a nearby tobacco shop to pass a 20-minute wait after their first restaurant choice did not answer the phone.
Initially, the winners believed they had only won 30,000 euros. It was only after contacting the Française des Jeux (FDJ) winner support department that they realized the true scale of their prize. The winners expressed relief, stating the windfall would secure the future for themselves and their children.
In the same drawing, another individual visiting Paris also won 10 million euros through the Loto. The Dordogne win marks the second-largest Loto prize in that region, following an 11 million euro win in January 2013.
