Dori Sakurada to guest star in Doraemon Birthday Special

Actor Dori Sakurada will make his debut in anime voice acting for the “Doraemon Birthday Special,” scheduled to air on September 6, 2026. Sakurada will voice Konrobo, a fox-type robot from the future who pursues Doraemon in the episode titled “Konkon Great Confusion! The Suspect is Doraemon!?”

In the special, Doraemon is falsely accused of stealing jewels worth 1 billion yen from a billionaire's mansion. Sakurada, a longtime fan of the series, prepared for the role by studying professional voice acting techniques and observing regular recording sessions. He also received guidance from Kazumi Kakazu, the voice actress for Shizuka, to help refine his performance and emotional range for the character.

A regular episode titled “Doraemon's Surprise Day” will air on September 5, the day before the special, focusing on Doraemon's signature dorayaki pouch.
