Dorin Cioabă proposes ‘Stat Rom’ and new Roma community currency

Dorin Cioabă, known as the ‘International King of the Roma’, has proposed the creation of a ‘Stat Rom’ and a dedicated financial system for the Roma community. These initiatives are set to be discussed at the International Roma Congress organized by the International Romani Union (IRU) in Sibiu, Romania.

Key components of the proposal include the launch of a new currency named ‘Love Romane’, which Cioabă suggests would be backed by a gold reserve to increase its value over time. Additionally, he intends to establish the ‘Love Romane Bank’ (International Roma Bank) to develop financial instruments and support economic development projects within Roma communities.

The proposed ‘Stat Rom’ is envisioned to follow a model similar to the Vatican, potentially including a monarchy or republic, a House of Lords, and a central bank. While the project seeks international recognition, it currently lacks formal territory, a stable population, or recognized institutional status.
