Doris Ogala apologises to Lagos court for disruptive conduct

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala knelt before a Federal High Court in Lagos to apologise for unruly behavior during a previous court session. Ogala, who is facing charges of alleged cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and attempted extortion involving Pastor Chris Okafor, expressed remorse to Justice Akintayo Aluko, stating she regretted shouting and singing in the courtroom.

The disruption had previously forced the court to suspend proceedings, preventing the hearing of seven other cases. While the judge considered a contempt charge, noting that such conduct could warrant two months of imprisonment, he ultimately reserved a ruling on Ogala’s bail application until November 6, 2026.

Ogala remains in custody at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre. Her lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, has indicated plans to petition the Attorney-General of the Federation to seek the withdrawal of the charges, characterizing the matter as a private dispute between former partners rather than a criminal issue.
