Dormy golf retailer theft uncovered via tracking devices

A major theft involving millions of kronor has been uncovered at Dormy, Europe’s largest golf retailer, based in Örebro, Sweden. The investigation revealed a complex internal scheme where high-value products disappeared shortly after arriving at the warehouse.

Investigators used tracking devices embedded in golf equipment to identify the culprits. The theft was further brought to light when an employee noticed rare golf clubs being sold on Facebook. A man in his 50s from the Örebro region has been identified as a seller.

As a result of the investigation, a former employee and an accomplice are now being prosecuted for aggravated theft and receiving stolen goods. Dormy reported annual revenues of 1.05 billion SEK and a profit of 125.9 million SEK in 2025.
