Dorota Nvotová criticizes Slovak healthcare after prosthesis failure

Singer and politician Dorota Nvotová has reported complications following her diagnosis of breast cancer and incurable lymphedema earlier this year. While attempting to use swimming as a recommended rehabilitation method to manage swelling and pain, her external silicone breast prosthesis burst in a pool because it was not designed for swimming.

Nvotová expressed frustration with the Slovak healthcare system, noting that insurance companies do not reimburse the cost of specialized waterproof prostheses, even when doctors prescribe swimming for rehabilitation. She also noted the necessity of traveling to Austria to obtain essential medications, such as Tamoxifen, that are currently unavailable in Slovakia.
